John Erik
… is a former software engineer, certified bodywork therapist and tai chi instructor. He is a certified Permaculture and Aquaponics enthusiast, webmaster and a recent California transplant. John Erik has several published sustainability articles and has been training in Advanced Permaculture skills and Natural Resources Sciences since 2007.
John-Erik is a Permaculture Educator and Advocate. Of particular interest is discovering how to move water through a landscape via the most circuitous path – from low potential/high energy elevations to high potential/low energy bottom lands, rubbing up against as many micro climates as possible. This helps expand the “edge effect” – a place where subsystems mingle and create diversity and abundance.
Projects accomplished include landscape surveying and swale tree planting system design, passive water transport system, “herb spiral” and “key-hole” gardens, fruit tree pruning, portable solar energy charging station, rocket mass stove and cob building, ecological restoration, pond rehydration and Chinampa garden design.
